About

Sarah works out of her home studio in Peterborough. Her love for the arts and creative problem solving led her to pursue a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Design. After graduating, she worked as the studio assistant for Canadian jewelry designer Lucya Almeida, designing and fabricating jewelry sold across Canada. Creative work took a pause with the start of a family, until she reached out to help with projects through Love for the Boro (beautifying the downtown core), joining the local Peterborough Artist Collective, and ever since regularly participating in gallery shows and art initiatives for the city.

Her current work is primarily acrylic paintings (safe for little fingers, who often like to help!) Themes are connected to native species and natural phenomena, and portraits. Vibrant colours are built up in thin layers in such a way that often people at first mistake the medium for oil paint. 

Outside of art, her life revolves around long distance swimming, helping at the family farm, gardening, and raising her family to have the same love for their community, and the natural world.
