Sarah works out of her home studio in Peterborough. Her love for the arts and creative problem solving led her to pursue a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Design. After graduating, she worked as the studio assistant for Canadian artisan Lucya Almeida of The Tima Collection, designing and making copper jewelry sold across Canada.
After starting a family, creative work took a pause- until she read about community art created through Love for the Boro. She signed up as an artist to paint a picnic table, canoe paddle, and create a mini window gallery. This in turn led her to a newly formed group called the Peterborough Arts Collective (PAC). Since then, she has participated in regular PAC shows and has become an active member, creating a website, managing events, and helping plan future collaborations.
She has explored a range of mediums but her current work is primarily acrylic paintings (safe for little fingers!) Themes are connected to her personal journey of learning more about native species and natural phenomena, and lately she has been delving into portraits. Outside of art, her life revolves around long distance swimming, reforesting the family farm, gardening, and raising her family to have the same love for the natural world.
Her work can be found on display at the Jason Wilkins Factory with members of the PAC, The Art Gallery of Peterborough, as well as other local cafes.
